Made in Italy - Branding

Made in Italy, a café and restaurant nestled in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Grassmarket, sought a refreshed logo that honored their Italian heritage while providing a modern twist. The goal was to maintain a connection to the iconic Colosseum, a key element from their previous logo, while bringing in a new, stylish aesthetic to better align with their evolving brand.

The new logo features a sleek logomark of the Colosseum, simplified to evoke the timelessness of Italian architecture without overwhelming the design. This is paired with an elegant art deco-style font, which adds a touch of vintage sophistication while maintaining a modern, approachable feel. The use of the art deco style bridges the old and the new, mirroring the restaurant’s fusion of traditional Italian flavors with a contemporary dining experience.

To enhance versatility, the logo was designed in both stacked and horizontal layouts, and the three-brand color palette allows for flexible use across menus, signage, and digital platforms. The refreshed design keeps the essence of Italian culture alive, while creating a fresh, updated look that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to both authenticity and innovation.
